About CASI
Closing the gap between climate ambition
and action.
CASI was founded by the team behind Gallery Climate Coalition – a leading climate non-profit providing open-source resources and guidance to the global visual arts community – we know what it takes to make real, lasting sustainability happen in creative organisations.
With our insight and expertise, we help organisations embed change that sticks, drive momentum, and create impact that matters.
While GCC focuses on sector-wide alignment, shared standards, and collective action, CASI delivers hands-on, tailored support, working directly with organisations to meet their specific needs, capacities, and stage of progress.
CASI can support museums, galleries, arts fairs, cultural institutions, foundations, funders, artist studios - and everyone in between - to close the gap between climate ambition and action.

-
CASI’s mission is to equip arts organisations with the knowledge, tools and strategies to confidently take measurable climate action and harness the transformative power of culture to inspire change beyond our industry.
-
Our vision is a cultural sector using its power to collaboratively drive systemic Environmental Responsibility, shape public imagination, and take an active role in building a regenerative future.
-
Collective Responsibility
Every one of us has a responsibility to act – to reduce harm and protect the Earth using all our influence. This is our shared duty, not something we can outsource, delay, or offset.
Constructive Collaboration
We’ve seen the change that collective movement can bring. We’re going to need everyone to stay active, curious, committed and, above all, hopeful that other ways of operating are possible.
Meaningful Change
We’re here to support real progress – not just good intentions. Change must be tangible, observable, and measurable – happening in people, organisations, and systems. Sometimes it’s incremental, sometimes transformative, but it always requires action.
Systemic Thinking
Nothing happens in isolation. We approach climate action by seeing the whole picture – how systems, behaviours, and decisions connect and compound. Understanding these relationships helps us design effective, enduring solutions.
Cultural Fluency
We come from the creative sector and are rooted here - this is our world. We know the language, rhythms, parts and pieces that keep it in motion.
Positive Momentum
We don’t deny the challenges – we face them head-on. Through active hope, shared effort, and a stubborn optimism, we keep moving forward, step by step. Progress isn’t linear, but momentum matters.
Creative Pragmatism
The environmental crisis demands practical action and creative thinking. Bringing together the rigour of technical know-how with the energy of artistic expression, we devise strategies and solutions that work and resonate.
Nature Inspired
The natural world inspires us – its beauty, complexity, and intelligence. More-than-human systems holds solutions we’re only beginning to understand - that’s why we protect it, learn from it, and let it guide how we work.
